About Us
At Midtown Jewish Preschool, we believe early childhood educators are professionals doing deeply meaningful work that shapes children, families, and community life. Our classrooms are calm, joyful, relationship-centered environments where teachers are supported through mentorship, collaboration, and ongoing professional development.
We value curiosity, reflective teaching, teamwork, and strong relationships with children and families. Jewish experience is welcomed but not required. We value educators who are open, collaborative, and eager to learn within a Jewish school community.

What You’ll Do
Depending on the role, responsibilities may include:
  • Create warm, engaging classroom environments for toddlers and preschoolers
  • Support learning through play, exploration, inquiry, and relationship-building
  • Foster children’s social-emotional growth and positive peer interactions
  • Observe children thoughtfully and plan based on their interests and developmental needs
  • Practice positive behavior guidance and responsive classroom management
  • Collaborate closely with co-teachers, specialists, and families
  • Incorporate Jewish values, traditions, and celebrations in developmentally appropriate ways (for Judaics roles)
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, mentorship, and reflective practice
  • Help maintain organized, safe, and nurturing classroom spaces
What Success Looks Like in This Role
Successful educators at MJP:
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families

  • Work collaboratively with teaching teams and school leadership
  • Communicate professionally and warmly with families and colleagues
  • Approach teaching with curiosity, flexibility, and professionalism

  • Willingness to work within a Jewish school community
We welcome candidates from both traditional and alternative pathways to early childhood education, including emerging educators eager to grow professionally through mentorship and coaching. Research in early childhood Jewish education shows that many successful educators enter the field through nontraditional pathways and thrive with strong support systems and professional development.

At MJP, teachers are valued as professionals and important members of our community.
