Position Summary: Learn the day-to-day operations of the Waukesha Day Report Center (DRC) program. As time allows, there may be other opportunities to learn and observe the OWI and Drug Treatment Court programs.
Essential Functions:
Observe and participate in all essential functions of the Waukesha Day Report Center case manager position to gain a full understanding of the position.
Participate in a range of evidence-based services to provide structure and accountability, including but not limited to: facilitating new intakes and explaining the program components to persons served, face-to-face supervision appointments with people to support compliance with all program requirements and terms of supervision, identify and provide people with community-based services for supportive services based on need, as well as conduct skill building activities during supervision appointments, working with local treatment providers to ensure enrollment in and compliance with treatment, and support people with compliance with all related fees (program, court, treatment, and electronic monitoring).
Engage in internal team meetings and use professional judgement to make recommendations for responses to violations.
Make collaborative decisions for treatment provider referrals based on people’s needs and support and ensure accountability and compliance with provider standards.
Enter appropriate tracking in the WCS AWARDS and CORE databases, ensuring timely and complete data entry.
Make collaborative recommendations to the Court, District Attorney’s Office, and the Department of Corrections Agents for response to violations.
Ensure accurate and timely written and electronic files and court communication.
Coordinate with the Electronic Monitoring staff and ensure routine check-ins for inspection of the bracelet and payment of fees, including addressing outstanding fees owed by people served.
Seeking students in the human services field at the associate's, bachelor's or master's level.
Anticipated Duration: Minimum of one semester and at least eight hours per week. It is anticipated that most work hours will be between 8:00 A.M. and 5:30 P.M. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on Friday.
Work Relationship and Scope: Reports to the DRC Supervisor and the Post Conviction Services Program Manager. Has contact with a wide variety of individuals including individuals with criminal charges, courthouse and jail personnel, various criminal justice agencies and other WCS staff.

Working Conditions: Most of the work will be done in the WCS Waukesha office at 414 W. Moreland Blvd, Suite 203, in Waukesha. WCS does require a background check for this position.
Physical Demands: Duties require good hearing and the ability to communicate verbally; hand and finger dexterity for data entry and typing.
